このサービスは使いにくく、ユーザー自らサーバーへ確認しなければメールの有無が確認できませんでした。定期的にサーバー確認できるアプリを使用することもできるのですが、時間間隔が決まっている点や、電力消耗が激しくなる点が、問題として指摘されていました。
SPモードは届いたメールは直ちに表示されてくれるので、不満を抱いていたユーザーには朗報となりそうです。また、絵文字やデコメールも使えます。スマートフォンへの切り替えを留まっていたユーザーも敷居が低くなったことで、乗り換えする方が増加しそうです。
また、ソフトバンクにとって脅威と言えるニュースがあります。日本通信が「思いきり快適にiPhone4を使いたい」をコンセプトにNTTドコモのFOMAネットワークを使ったサービスを提供しました。ソフトバンクでなくてもiPhone4を使えるようになりました。今後のソフトバンクはどうなるのでしょうね。
